The purchase and sale of furniture and second hand appliances
Spain generates annually about 20 million tons of waste, of which only about 45,000 are recycled. Of these, about 21,000 are for paper, some 8,600 to glass, wood-7400, 3000 to 2600 to textiles and ferrous metals, according to sources
the AERESS (Spanish Association of
Social Economy and Solidarity).
You may not have in mind, but it is true that compared to these figures, the market for the purchase / sale of both furniture and appliances second-hand presents itself as a profitable and environmentally friendly alternative to extend the life of these products and prevent the proliferation of waste.
Rescuing lost appliances used
The alternative to recycling is so solid, that the Ministry of Environment supports the reuse of second hand appliances. This is the example of the campaign launched last year that had as its motto the slogan "Love me like the first time. Reuse and gives life to the appliances?. All we have ever used an appliance which we get rid of. Perhaps the same is found in good condition or not. Remember that if the appliance is damaged, you can sell in specialty stores that use spare parts and material to repair it and then reinsert it in the market. In the event that the appliance is no damage that would prevent normal operation, it will be easier both to give it to a relative or friend, and sell at retail. In all towns and cities there are shops dedicated to buying / selling second-hand appliances. You can even try to sell them at flea markets or post classified ads on websites.
If you decide to get rid of it without earning any money and you think it's rubbish, it is desirable to get rid of the appliance using the system used with the waste collectors in your area for these cases because it is possible that the intended associations for subsequent repair and reuse. Surely otherwise destroy them in accordance with guidelines set by the government recycling, in order to avoid waste generation tóxicos.Ten in mind that when an appliance is disposed of (a TV, washing machine, a stereo , a computer, etc) it automatically becomes what is known as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). In Spain only recycles 15% of this waste. For your information, note that it is estimated that each year of Spanish citizens generate about 16 kilos of WEEE. Okay, the figure may seem minor, but considering that we are 44 million citizens, the figure rises to 656,000 tons. Which, if not having a treatment considered, can they become potential air pollutants and water.
You see that is both ecological consideration or earn a few euros and help others to buy a good product at a low cost, the market for buying / selling second hand appliances is an option that you should not be overlooked. And if in your case you're thinking of buying, not selling, Memorize the notion that
Law 23/2003 stipulates that all second-hand goods acquired have a year warranty.
Saving secondhand furniture
The market for buying / selling second hand furniture is not very different appliances. Perhaps the biggest difference is that in many cases, while electronics lose value over the years, many furniture - especially the quality - price rise in direct relation to their age.
