Being Conservative

One becomes conservative when you have something to conserve.

This assumption is always true and I am convinced that our genes force us to be. When we are young and have a lifetime ahead we can afford to arriegar, to innovate and to experiment with the important things in life. We can have revolutionary ideas and transgressive. We can be progressive because basically we need progress. The ideas of our ancestors are taken with skepticism because we think our circumstances and theirs are very different (and are). In summary, we have a life ahead and we can be optimistic.

But progress along life successes and failures and achieving at a time much closer than we think we have a couple and house bought with effort, some children and a job with which to keep. And then when we seek the best for us. I am no longer I, but us ... and ideas change. Action becomes reflection, rebellion becomes submissive and want to preserve and defend what you worked hard to get. Because we do not want to risk losing much more than they can win. We have fallen into the trap of life, but you can live comfortably in it. We have become conservative.

And not about politics but about attitudes toward life. Do not want our daughter's face tattooed not because we are about fascists but because we think it can hurt you in your life, we want our children to relate to higher social strata because they might come in handy, we see with other eyes labor issues, religious , family, political ... All this I say as a conservative person that I am much more sure of myself ten years ago, but much more cowardly to face profound changes in my life. Much more experienced but, perhaps because of it, much more suspicious of everything.

It is clear ... I'm conservative.
