Lifeguard hire Work To Strengthen Cancun Beaches
CANCUN QUINTANA ROO .- The Director of Civil Protection of the municipality of Benito Juárez, Felix Diaz Villalobos, announced the hiring of 20 lifeguards for the holiday season, to ensure the physical safety of tourists and residents.
He said that to strengthen their work was given an endowment of kits, charts so they can move people in case of any mishap and oxygen tanks.
'We are trying to be fully equipped to provide care to the citizens, and actually may have the necessary tools so that if necessary respond to emergencies, "he said.
Civil Protection reported that currently has 12 safeguards, based on six elements of the Fire Department, who comprise the main beaches of Cancun, Puerto Juarez and Puerto Morelos.
The municipal official said the main objective is to give the best service in this season, and for this, the body of elements Civil Protection continuously receives training.

The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) will open a museum next year in Cancun, to disseminate the archaeological culture of Quintana Roo and provide a complementary experience for tourists.
Interviewed after participating in the Kultur Forum 2011, the national coordinator of INAH Outreach, Benito Taibo, said the museum will be located in a small archaeological site of the town.
He explained that it is offering visitors a complementary experience that helps to know, at least part of the vast culture that characterizes the entity, and archaeological supply is at hand.
He recalled that very close to Cancun and accessible by good roads are several archeological sites such as The King and Tulum, which represent part of the enormous wealth of the state.
Benito Taibo said the museum will help visitors know what is the legacy of ancient cultures in the state, and to carry a complementary experience.
Although Cancun was built exclusively around tourism, now is the time that culture is part of the tourist experience and the museum will fulfill this role, he said.
He said that will have an estimated investment of 70 million pesos and be inaugurated in October 2012 and will act as museum.
This project continued, will also help to strengthen the knowledge and pride of the local population by the roots of the community, although most of those living in Cancun and Quintana Roo are from other states.
Benito Taibo said that is also preparing, in coordination with the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) and other institutions, work to generate among children born in Cancun and the roots and an appreciation of local culture.
On this plan, he said that is still being prepared, but generally work through the classrooms and information technology so that children are clear about their origins and be proud of them.
